never to forget the
tragedy of the Holocaust!

The Butterfly Project is based on this
 heartwrenching but beautiful poem.

I Never Saw Another Butterfly

 The last, the very last,

So richly, brightly, dazzlingly yellow
Perhaps if the sun’s tears would sing
against a white stone....

Such, such a yellow
Is carried lightly ’way up high.
It went away I’m sure
because it wished
to kiss the world good-bye.

For seven weeks I’ve lived in here
Penned up inside this ghetto.
But I have found what I love here.
The dandelions call to me
And the white chestnut branches in the court.

Only I never saw another butterfly.
That butterfly was the last one.
Butterflies don’t live in here, in the ghetto.

While Mother Rests!!

This image reminds me of  a very
 precious time in my life
when my children were just
little tykes, scampering and
playinng all over the house.

 I can remember sitting down
to take a break from my
busy housework and picking up
the newspaper but instead of reading,
I was more interested in watching
my little ones playing  together!

They are older now,
but we still find the time to
make tents with chairs and blankets,
creating papier mache with
flour, water, and newspaper,
fixing teddybear pancakes for the girls
and now football pancakes for the boys
(they've outgrown the teddy bears and rabbits)!

They are growing up so fast and as
I try to hold on to every precious minute,
one day, I know I will turn around and
they will be gone and living their own lives.

I think we'll have pancakes for supper tonight!

WEDDING BELLS ARE RINGING!!!

This is a nice vintage photo
of a lovely wedding party
looing so fine in their
beautiful wedding attire!
Everyone looks so
 happy and content!
  But, tell me,
which one is the groom?

This photo  probably dates
back to the early 1920's !!

The bride's dress is much shorter
than the maid of honor's dress
and even shorter than her veil!!

Those Glorious Flapper Days!!
